Saturday - April 14, 2018
This year’s Rocky Mountain Region Convention will be held in Cheyenne on May 18, 19, and 20, 2018. They will hold the convention in conjunction with the Sherman Hill Model Railroad Show and Cheyenne’s Depot Days celebration, which are held on May 19 and 20, Saturday and Sunday. The convention will be held in the Frontier Park Exhibition Hall, upstairs in the Buckle Club. The Exhibition Hall is located at 1312 W. 8th Ave., Cheyenne, WY. This is upstairs above the Train Show and is the reason they are including the cost of the Train Show in the Registration Fee as you will go thru the Train Show to get to the Convention. This is shaping up to be a fun and interesting weekend. The Convention will begin on Friday evening with registration, model contest entries, and a reception of sodas and snacks. Saturday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM they will have clinics running all day and the contest room will be open for viewing and the popular voting for models, plus a complimentary breakfast from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
On Sunday morning they will have clinics and awards along with complimentary refreshments of sodas, coffee, and snacks from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
The registration price is $40 and includes a $10.00 charge for the Train Show and all Depot Days Activities, including shuttle transportation to the UP Steam Shops. Depot Days includes many fine sights to see including the UP shops and the Depot. Children 12 and under are free.
