In addition to railroad hobby activities, we will have a presentation called The Transcontinental Story, which covers building the first transcontinental railroad as well as Richard Luckin will be presenting his PBS documentary “Journey to Promontory! Additionally, we will have presentations on prototype railroad operations.
Renown railroad artist Jim Jordan will be exhibiting at the Expo as well.
We are also pleased to have James Rogers, Senior Special Collection Librarian of Denver Public Library’s Western History and Genealogy Department (WHG) exhibiting the library’s transportation and genealogy resources at this year’s event. WHG’s "crown jewels" include the Colorado Railroads Collection and the Ross Barrett Historical Aeronautics Collection.
The Colorado Railroads Collection includes 20,000+ historical railroad photographs from notable railroad photographers such as Robert Richardson and Otto Perry, including a large portion of Perry’s works. Included are images of standard and narrow gauge railroads in Colorado and the West; locomotives, passenger and freight cars, structures, and terminals. Many rail lines such as the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad, the Rio Grande Southern, and the Union Pacific Railroad are represented.
Beyond railroads, the Hobby-Expo offers Radio Control cars, trucks, aircraft and boats, drones, model kits, slot cars, rockets, games, LEGO and STEM activities.

Admission is $12 with kids 12/under, Active Military and First Responder families and scouts in uniform FREE. Parking is FREE too.
