Club Project Update: Signaling

As part of the club's continued operations, we are planning on adding, block detection, signaling, and a CTC display to the layout. In the first phase of the process we looked at the layout and divided into major areas that are logical blocks to existing towns and major switching locations. Next we planned what signals we needed and where they will be located in those blocks.

In the last club work session we started the signal installation to the Hobo Junction area of the layout. This portion of the layout is the logical starting place for the project. Hobo Junction is the modules between our 8 track inside staging yard and the two mainlines of the layout. This is a major congestion point on the layout as trains come on and off the layout.

This weekend we will be setting up for the Sherman Hill Model Railroad Show in Cheyenne, Wyoming. The show is at the Taco Johns Event Center. Hours for the show is 9 to 5 Saturday and 11 to 4 Sunday.
